Attribution 101: Track What Drives Memberships
If you don’t know where your best leads come from, you can’t scale what works.
This guide explains how to use Levi’s built-in attribution tools to connect campaigns, conversations, and conversions — so you can see exactly which channels drive memberships and revenue.
🎯 Why Attribution Matters
Attribution connects the dots between your marketing and your sales.
When Levi knows where each lead originated, it can automatically:
Tag and score leads by source (e.g., Google Ads, Instagram, Direct)
Trigger source-specific automations
Report on ROI by channel
No manual spreadsheets, no guessing — just clean, end-to-end tracking.
⚙️ Step 1 — Enable Source Tracking
Go to Settings → Attribution in your Levi dashboard.
Toggle Enable Source Tracking.
Levi will now automatically capture UTM parameters and referrer data from each visitor.
Tip: Make sure your ads and links include standard UTM tags (e.g., utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign).
🔗 Step 2 — Capture UTM Data from Forms and Chat
Levi automatically reads UTM parameters from URLs or embedded forms.
Parameter | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
utm_source | Traffic source | google, instagram, newsletter |
utm_medium | Channel type | cpc, email, referral |
utm_campaign | Campaign name | spring_promo, retargeting_q2 |
utm_content | Ad variation | banner_a, video_1 |
💡 Pro Tip: For chat leads, Levi automatically attaches the same UTM values to each message thread for full context.
🧩 Step 3 — Map Source Data to CRM Fields
If you’re using HubSpot, Salesforce, or another CRM integration, you can sync attribution fields directly.
Go to Integrations → CRM → Field Mapping.
Match each UTM parameter to its CRM equivalent.
Choose Levi → CRM as the sync direction.
Save changes and test with a sample lead.
Example mapping table:
Levi Field | CRM Field | Sync Direction |
|---|---|---|
utm_source | Lead Source | Levi → HubSpot |
utm_medium | Marketing Channel | Levi → HubSpot |
utm_campaign | Campaign Name | Levi → HubSpot |
📊 Step 4 — View Attribution Reports
Levi’s built-in reports show you which channels produce the most memberships and bookings.
Navigate to Analytics → Attribution Overview to see:
Metric | Description |
|---|---|
Top Sources | Rank of traffic sources by total leads |
Conversion Rate by Channel | % of leads that became customers |
Average Value per Channel | Revenue generated from each source |
Attribution Window | Time delay between first touch and conversion |
💡 Example Insight: Leads from Google Ads convert 3× faster than Instagram DMs — focus your ad spend there.
🧠 Step 5 — Create Source-Based Automations
Turn data into action:
Go to Automations → New Workflow.
Set trigger: Lead Source = Instagram Ads.
Add follow-up rule: Send message after 15 minutes with exclusive offer.
Tag lead as Campaign: Spring Promo.
✅ Levi now nurtures each source uniquely — boosting conversions across your funnel.
🧹 Step 6 — Maintain Data Accuracy
Attribution data can drift over time. Keep it clean by:
Using consistent UTM structures across all campaigns.
Reviewing your Attribution Log weekly.
Setting default sources for direct traffic (e.g., “Website Visit”).
Avoiding overwriting original source data unless necessary.
